MicroHistory Investigations -
The book investigated the pioneer and colonial backgrounds of the
Monroe and Owen County families of LIVINGSTON, HAZEL, HANSFORD,
FULKERSON, as well as COOPER, BOWEN, WRIGHT and FEARS. In addition,
for the LIVINGSTON family, a strong case is made for descent from
the Livingstons of Dunipace, a cadet family (Baronage) of the
Livingstons of Callendar.

"No-Nothing Party" 1855-56 -
The "Know-Nothing Party" was listed by the short lived Monroe County 1855-56 Democratic Newspaper,
The News-Letter,
in an effort to name their political opposition. Many of the
Bloomington's most influential people of that pre-Civil War era are on
that list. There is also access to more in depth explanations of the
party.
