"About Colored Folk" Newspaper Clipping Archive

Hundreds of births and deaths are contained within the Genealogy Library's new compilation of local newspaper clippings from 1855 to 1951. Also included are many detailed accounts of out-of-town visitors, church happenings, and other Monroe County black community activities.

The archive is named after the column of the same name run in the Bloomington papers. It consists of year-by-year entries, but is yet to be indexed. We hope soon to provide this additional tool, for accessing the thousands of entries.
