With Joe Peden
Joe Peden will talk about life on historic Maple Grove Road and the Children's Farm Festival. Joe grew up on Maple Grove Road on the family farm with his parents, Richard and Rachel and sister, Carol. His mother was a writer and author, writing columns for the Indianapolis Star titled “The Hoosier Farm Wife.” His parents hosted school children starting in the 60's. Joe and Joyce have continued that tradition.
Joe was employed by the USDA as District Conservationist, and State Agronomist for thirty two years. He served as District Conservationist in Monroe County for several years prior to his retirement. He is involved in several organizations and serves on various boards, including SCI-REMC, White-River Co-op, and Monroe County Farm Bureau, Inc.
This free program is part of the History Center’s 3rd Thursday program series.
The 3rd Thursday series meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Monroe County History Center, 202 E. 6th St., Bloomington, IN.
