The History Center has acquired ten new Windows XP computers, new software, and broadband
Internet access. A peer-to-peer network has been
established.
We are seeking interns for non-paid
positions who can devote six or more hours per week beginning in the
Fall, 2006 semester. There will be more technology internship
opportunities after the fall semester.
Interns will benefit from working
in the interesting and supportive History Center environment. Emphasis
will be placed on working with people who need to learn to use
computers as an integral part of their jobs. Real-world technology
work will contribute to the interns' professional experience and
knowledge of arranging and managing a new computer network with staff
and volunteers who need a wide range of support. History Center
volunteers such as these interns experience personal satisfaction and
growth.
The Center's technology team will
orient and supervise each intern. The intern might arrange a
credit-based experience with their academic departments, or volunteer
for a non-credit position.
Those interested in applying should
contact the Volunteer
Coordinator via e-mail
or phone: 812.332.2517.
