This mantle originally
belonged to Col. John Ketchum (1782-1865). Col. Ketchum was a
surveyor, contractor, Indiana State legislator, judge, Indiana
Seminary trustee, grist mill operator, Indiana state militia colonel,
and one of the very first settlers of Monroe County. His descendants
still live in Monroe County today.
