Research & Photocopy Queries:

• Requested research is done by experienced volunteers of the Monroe County Historical Society Genealogy Library at the  Research Rates listed below.

  Remember to state your surface mail address so copies can be sent to you.

  Telephone: (812)355-5588. The Genealogy Library is available by phone only when staffed (Tues through Sat 10-4). Minor queries and requests can be handled by staff as a free service according to time available.
   

• Email requests to genealogy@monroehistory.org, including general family research, copies of estate settlements, wills, land records (including mortgages), etc. are welcome. Please put the following phrase in the subject line: "Genealogy - Attention Library."

Publications: Please access the Museum Store page for all publication purchases.

Rates:

• Research is $10 per hour for the first 3 hours and $8 per hour thereafter for the same line of inquiry. Please specify any dollar limits on research.
   
• Deed Records are $1 per deed of 2 pages or less plus $1 for each additional page (example page)
• Probate/Court Records are $1 per page

The charges for the research, copy costs, and postage/mailing charges will be billed when you receive your requested materials.
