Staying Put: A Commitment to Community
with Scott Russell Sanders
Thursday, May 15 @ 7:00 pm at the
History Center
Scott Sanders will speak about why
commitment to place and local knowledge matter to each of us and to
our community as a whole. He will examine the consequences of severing
ties with the past, a frequent situation in our mobile and throw-away
society. Sanders will cite examples from his book on this theme,
Staying Put (1993).
Sanders has lived in Bloomington since
1971. He is a Distinguished Professor of English at Indiana
University.
