Educational Programming Brochure (pdf file)

A Note from our Education Coordinator:

Dear Fellow Educators,

With budget cuts in our public and private educational institutions it can be difficult to take quality field trips. Please consider a visit to the Monroe County History Center located in the historic Carnegie Library building in the heart of downtown Bloomington. We hope that you will keep the History Center in mind while you are planning your out-of-classroom learning experiences. Also consider our Museum-to-You program, where you never have to leave your classroom; the information and artifacts are brought to your classroom.

The Monroe County History Center is a not-for-profit, self-sustaining organization dedicated to the preservation and understanding of local history. The Center is operated by a volunteer board of dedicated Monroe County Historical Society members. All funds raised by educational programs go back into our facility to help us create fun, interesting, and historically accurate programs for all ages.

On this page you will find a link to our educational programming brochure. Please keep in mind that the listed programs are adaptable to any age group and have a flexible format. I am confident that we can accommodate any needs that you may have.

Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,

Lisa M. Simmons

Funds from educational programming provide essential support for our mission: ‘to collect, preserve, research, interpret, and exhibit the genealogy, history and artifacts of Monroe County, “…and to, “foster a deeper understanding of Monroe County’s history, culture, and natural environment by all.”
